Football season is here along with the holidays. Some of us host football parties, some of us entertain for the holidays or varies parties and sometimes we need a quick and easy appetizer to go with us somewhere. This is a great, fun appetizer that can fit into almost any category.
On Thanksgiving morning my sister-in-law decided we needed food to snack on while making our Thanksgiving dinner sides and this is the recipe we went with. It dawned on me how perfect this is for almost any occasion! I've made it for football parties and know this is one of those recipes I can keep up my sleeve for a fast and cute appetizer.
What do we need for this? Actually only two simple ingredients. Total cost: $5.50 and you make about 32 little Piggies in a Blanket. For all you mathematicians out there - that's about $.17 each. Have I told you yet how much I like this little recipe?
The crescent rolls come in 8 triangles. Take each triangle and a pizza cutter, (this makes quick work of it) and cut each one into 4 strips. Separate.
We chose the lil' smokies with the cheese inside, but you can use regular if you choose. You simply take your smokie and roll up the dog into the dough. Set aside on a baking stone (or lined cookie sheet).
Here's a lifesize picture for you. ;)
I told you this was simple. Now we just need to finish rolling all of them and get ready to bake. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
Place them on your baking stone and cook for about 7-9 minutes or until golden brown. You can serve with a dip or alone.
A win/win appetizer for any party or get together that takes hardly any time at all and is a sure crowd pleaser!
Cheers!
